About Martyrs of Sound
Martyrs of Sound is Dr. Steve Koc and Sara Wiseman. We create healing music that transports the listener into expansion and bliss.
Martyrs of Sound started out as a street band in Salem, Oregon circa 2005. The band's first shows were an eclectic mix of drumming, percussion, Steve's 12-string guitar and an array of organic instrumentation: world percussion, cymbals, the gong. Guest performers (aka our friends) showed up from around the globe, returning for a session from wherever they'd been: Norway, Africa, Brazil.
Since 1975, Dr. Steve has studied meditation, mantra and sound therapy. In 2006, he began to focus on healing soundscapes. He spent a year working with tone, tempo and vibration, and in 2007, recorded our first album, Mantra Chill.
Since 2000, Sara Wiseman has worked as a visionary teacher of spiritual intuition. She creates the etheric voice, lyrics and vocal arrangements.

One hour of dreamy, luscious music supporting three 11-minute segments of a subtle chanting of the universal mantra Om. This track incorporates sound healing, energy medicine and organic music so that just hearing it will stabilize your nervous system, release good chemicals in the brain, and melt away tension while also being enjoyable to listen to. Something you can let play while watching the sunset, doing yoga, giving/receiving a massage, or falling asleep.
The vocal line “Om Shanti Om” is a Sanskrit mantra which is a prayer for deep peace.
